The Twisted Atlas
The Twisted Atlas is a custom run of knives that are only available from a few select suppliers. They’ve been designed from the ground up to be perfect for the UK market. They are, of course, completely UK legal carry thanks to the non-locking slip joint blades with cutting edge measuring 65mm. Well under the 76.2mm cut-off for the legal limit.
Twisted Modularity
When you buy this knife, you’re not just buying one knife. Thanks to some clever design, these knives are extremely modular, with multiple different conjurations possible. We’re starting with just a couple of lines to begin with, but the scales, hardware and blade finishes are all hot-swappable. Don’t fancy black handle today? You could swap with the tan one. Likewise, don’t want a black coated blade, you can go with stonewashed instead.
Atlas’ Blade
The blade on the Atlas measures 65mm on the cutting edge, with the actual steel being slightly longer at 72mm from the top of the handle scale. It’s roughly 2.5cm wide and 2.8mm thick on the spine. They’re high flat ground with a nice curved plunge line that makes them really efficient slicers. With a drop point tip, they’re quite precise too, suitable for precision cutting as well as more general box opening and other in and outdoor cuts.
Mechanism
The Twisted Atlas is a slipjoint knife, meaning it doesn’t lock open or closed. Just pressure on the blade keeps it in place meaning it’s fairly easy to open and close with one hand. They are fitted with ambidextrous thumb studs for opening too, so they’re suitable for lefties and righties.
The Grip
To start, we’re offering the Twisted Atlas slipjoint knife with two configurations. A black coated blade with black micarta handle and a stonewashed blade with natural tan micarta handle. Both options are grippy, with a soft texture in the hand and slight grooves and contours ensuring the lock into your hand effectively. Plus, the extra thought that went into the design means that the pocket clip is swappable too. IT’s always a tip up carry, but can be adjusted to fit in either your left or right pocket. The space for the pocket clip on the opposite side of the handle comes with a plate to cover the gap so there are no sharp edges whichever hand you prefer.
Greek Mythology
In Greek mythology, Atlas is a Titan who is well known for holding up the heavens. We like to think of this knife in the same way. Strong enough to hold up the sky. It’s incredibly durable, and exceptionally good at it’s job. It looks great, and is absolutely worth of it’s namesake. EDC Warehouse presents.. the Twisted Atlas!
