How do you care for my everyday carry knife?

As this is quite a lengthy topic, we'll briefly mention the top options! With stainless steel knives, they usually just need a quick wipe if they get dirty. If being put away for a longer time, make sure they're dry. For carbon steels, it's a little trickier. Make sure they're dry after use, and we typically recommend wiping with some oil to keep them from rusting. If they're ever going to be used with food, make sure you don't use a non-food safe oil. We recommend vegetable oil if you're cleaning the knives regularly, or mineral oil if they don't see as much maintenance.

With knife pivots, if they ever feel dirty of gritty you can usually just drop a tiny amount of oil in and that'll sort it out. Most knives can be disassembled with either T6 or T8 torx bits, but we'll do a blog post on this for more detail.

To use a pocket clip correctly, slip the knife into your pocket and clip the spring clip to your pocket. This means the knife will stay in place at the top of your pocket where it's easy to reach. Other useful terms are things like 'deep carry' pocket clips, which means that the base of the knife isn't visible when it's clipped to the pocket.
